Laat me je voorstellen aan de sterke boom die ik net gepland heb in Nederland. Ze is sterk en flexibel, verbonden met moeder aarde. Zingt ze? Is ze treurig? Ze vertelt haar eigen verhaal, terwijl de wind met haar bladeren speelt. Nu is ze nog alleen en eenzaam, maar ik heb gehoord dat dat niet lang zal duren. Ze spreidt haar takken om anderen te verwelkomen en bij haar te komen staan. Haar droom? Een bos :-).
Let me introduce you to a strong tree that I just planted in the Netherlands. She is strong and flexible, in touch with mother earth. Is she singing? Or is she sad? She tells her own story while the wind plays with her leaves. For now she is a lonely tree, but I heard that she won't be alone for long. She spreads her branches to welcome others to join her. Her dream? A forest :-).
Het is de eerste keer dat ik zulke kleine stukjes stof heb geknipt en vastgenaaid. Het was een feest. I vond het erg leuk om te doen. Het was ook de eerste keer dat ik oliepastels heb gebruikt om de tekening op de stof te maken. Dit was spannend en ik denk dat ik ze nog wel eens weer zal gebruiken.
This is the first time I used little pieces of fabric that I just cut and sew. It was a feast. I loved making the leaves and branches. It was also the first time I used oil paintsticks to draw the picture on fabric. It was exciting to do, I think I will use these paintsticks again.

Corryna I commented on Around the World in 20 Quilts, but will say again there is something mystical about your tree woman. No, she is not sad, I think she embraces life and sends out positive wonderful energy for all who visit her. I love all the techiques you used to create this tree. The gold stands out so nicely against the greens in the leaves. And again, I love the 3 dimensional look you got. I tried for this too in mine. ;-)
Corryna je boom is prachtig, ik vind dat je een mooi stuk werk hebt geleverd. Ik worstel nog even vrolijk verder, want ben nog niet tevreden.
