One World, One Heart. Lisa Swifka is the author of this blog and she is having a worldwide contest! This is an excerpt from Lisa:

The original idea behind this giveaway event was to bring bloggers together from around the world who may never ordinarily meet. It closes the gap of the blog community and enables us to interact, discover new and wonderful people, and in the process possibly win a prize or many prizes along the way...This is more than wanting to win something.......that is only the means.......in the end it's about finding kindred spirits."

I am participating in this year's One World One heart blog giveaway. Leave a comment on this post for a chance to win this fabric cone above before Feb. 12. Tijd quilt detail - Detail time quilt

Here is an other detail of the work I am doing for the time quilt. I hope that I will see in time how to incorporate all the pieces. I hope they fit together in some way... And if not, I will have to make a series :-).

De tijd quilt - The time quilt

Where will it go to? I don't know. It is growing in time. And I am taking my time to let grow, make some choices, along the way. And I look. Not at my watch, but I am looking at what is growing in my hands. A sort of evolution.

Met kleine stapjes vooruit - Little steps forwards

The newest theme of the Dutch Bag Ladies is Time. Emmy handed us two fabrics, with a cold and a warm green. And now it is up to the group members to make something beautiful out of it. I like the fabrics. And now I am trying to get somewhere with it. I made several drawings, but nothing good has come up yet. I also made a big list with 'time'-words. Nothing has come out of that either. So I decided to start and see what happens. I hope time will tell :-)

As you can see, I am just experimenting.

And in the meanwhile I made an ATC. I dyed some fabric and stamped on it, with a handmade stamp (out of Linoleum). Ain't it funny? (Also see: http://corryna.blogspot.com/2008/03/stempels-gemaakt.html)

And I am still working on my Storm quilt. I started quilting it. I am a bit scared to mess it up with the quilting. But the next meeting, I want to show it to the group members, so I have to continue. And that is a good thing, because otherwise it would be an UFO, just because I am afraid of what will happen in this stage of the work. So I am taking little steps.

Broekreparatie - jeans repair

I am not feeling well, again... This flu is hard to get rid of. My work tempo is very low now, so I will only show you how I repaired my husbands jeans. I did similar repairs to the jeans of my sons. They love it.

Storm quilt weer een stap verder - Storm quilt another step futher

Today we had a wonderful meeting of the Dutch Bag Ladies at Sandra's house. Sandra gave us with a very tastful meal. She made an apple pie (jummie!) tomato soup, bread and a salade. Her children were/came home too during the day, so she had her hands full with her guests, serving the food and helping her children. I admire her strength and flexibility. I hope it was not to much for her. Thank you Sandra for the great meeting and all that you organized. I feel very lucky to be in this wonderful group of talented women!

Our group has grown to nine members now. Wietske Kluck joined in the club. She has an blog too, so you can look at her wonderful work there.

I did not finish my quilt. That is a pity. I thought I had one month more, but I found out that our meeting was in January, not February. But, I worked hard and this is how far I got.

Ziek - sick

Vandaag voel ik me hetzelfde.

The day before yesterday I got a soar throat. And along that day it got worse. I got head aches and my arms and legs were feeling heavy and started hurting. That is when I decided to come home early from work. Today I feel the same. I hope it will be better soon. So now you understand why there is no progress here...

Something is growing.... It is a lot of fun to give some life to my quilt.

Cyber Fyber

Suzan Lenz has an amazing Cyber Fyber exhibition on the internet. My postcard is in too! It is nr. 126.

Today I will take some time to comment on all the special cards because the best one will be a winner. I hope you will do so too. There are some very beautiful cards. I bet some of you have their card(s) in this exhibition as well :-). Please take a look at all the cards at http://cyberfyberonlinepostcards.blogspot.com/

Mijn Exquisite Corps Textile is thuis - My Exquisite Corps is home

With the clock, starting from the left upper corner, the parts were filled by: MaryAnn Richardson, Linda Frear, Deirdre Abbots, Gail V, Leslie Cohen and I. The design is a church window with sunbeams and a sleeping woman.

Today the postman brought back my Exquisite Corps. I was so excited! All members had to cover up their section with fabric. It is so much fun to explore what is underneath all that. And there is so much to see. All those different kind of techniques. The interpretations. And I had a laught when I saw the little baby that Gail added. It wasn't part of the original design, so it was a surprise to me. And although I see that the design I made doesn't work, I am glad I participated. I like what I got. I will make a border around it and this will remind me of this wonderful project. To see more, you can click on the photo.

Licht aan de linkerkant - Light at the left side

Today I decided that the right side of the stormquilt will be the sunny side. And the green thing will definitely be a tree. It has to be a tree, because that is what I designed. It will be ok and enhanced. I was most worried about the way the right side had to be painted: light, dark, happy, sad....
Lynn mentioned in her comment that the people you see are ghost like. Yes they are and are supposed to be that way. I am glad that others see it too. They are part of the sad story behind the scenery. I will tell the story when the quilt is finished. The story also grows with the quilt.

Creatief met de kinderen - Creative with the kids

A blog without a picture is so dull: Yesterday our kids and the nabours kids played with clay. Isn't that creative? :-)

Machtige bomen - Mighty Trees

Today I worked on the trees on the left and did a little on the right. Somehow the left side seems to go well and the right side doesn't. I am stuck now and will look at it tomorrow to see what to do next. The paint has to dry for two days and than I will attach the right tree to the background, so I can enhance it later on. This quilt is really a creative path for me. I am stepping out of my comfort zone and try new things. That is what I like about being in a art quilt group like the Dutch Bag Ladies. It inspires me and lets me think in a creative way and try to work things out in a new way with sometimes new materials.

Wat is 'creatief zijn' - What is 'being creative'

Daarom even iets meer uitleg.

Margeeth asked me if I will do something creative every day, because I am attending 'Creative Every Day'. Because of that question I will give some more explanation. For Creative Every Day you do not have te make something every day. It is kinda free and it brings out your creativity or it will trigger it. You can also subscribe to a monthly theme. For this month the theme is Play. You can do something with it every day, or once a month or what ever lies between this. It is not only about making things. It is also about thinking, trying, developing, drawing, having idea's etc...They are all part of being creative. So it is broad and without pressure. Exactly what I like.
