Frederiksoord: expositie, quiltroute en quiltmarkt

Today I went with a friend to Frederiksoord, where we went to a quilt market, quilt exhibition, and quilt route. The weather was cloudy, but we were lucky, because it almost didn't rain. It was very well organized. There were a lot of quilts to see and there was a lot you could buy. And we did :-). The quilt route was in the small village. We walked along the 'Kolonie' houses, walked through the gardens and through the woods. There were quilts everywhere. It was lovely.
I didn't want to buy fabrics, but fell for it again. I bought some wonderful fair trade fabrics and fabrics of 'Paapje'. I hope to make a wonderful bag out of the Paapje fabrics. I also bought a new ruler. Now I have two. This will make my live easier :-). As all things do, that I buy to make quilt LOL.

There were a lot of tents with shops in it. Of course Laura and Annette were there too, with the Trapsuutjies paint and the project Colours of Africa (by the way, you can still contribute for the good couse).
We also met Emmy today. She was all in style, wearing a wonderful jacket she bought from Annette.

Next month I will be giving a course for beginners, where they can learn how to make a bag. At this moment I am busy making examples. The 5th of September there will be a sort of course market, where all the people who will give courses will present them selfs. I hope a lot of people will subscribe to my course. If not, I will not be giving this course... It is the first time I will do this and I am very excited about it.

Volgende maand geef ik een cursus Maak je eigen tas voor beginners. Op dit moment ben ik druk bezig met het maken van voorbeelden. 5 September sta ik op de cursusmarkt, waar mensen zich voor cursussen kunnen inschrijven. Ik hoop dat dat gebeurt, zodat de cursus door kan gaan. Het is de eerste keer dat ik deze cursus geef en ik vind het heel spannend allemaal.

Hier is een sneak preview van mijn nieuwe Onder water quilt, waar ik aan werk. Het vordert gestaag. Ik vind zelf dat ie mooi wordt, maar ik wil hem nog even geheim houden (voor nu).

En dit is de wol die ik in mijn vakantie heb gekocht. Ik denk dat ik er mooie dingen mee kan maken. Al weet ik nog niet wat, ik moest het gewoon kopen.... Herken je dit?

And this is the wool I bought in my holiday. I think I can make nice things with it. Although I have no clue what that will be. I just had to buy it.... Do you recognize this?

Vakantiewerkje - holiday work

Dit is wat ik in de auto heb gemaakt toen we op weg gingen naar ons vakantieadres. Het was zo fijn om er aan te werken. Met de hand gaat het langzamer, maar de autentieke look die het krijgt kun je op de machine niet krijgen.

Gisteren kreeg ik last van kiespijn. Volgende week heb ik een afspraak met de kaakchirurg om twee verstandskiezen te laten trekken, maar één kies begon nu al pijn te doen (drie maanden geleden heb ik deze afspraak gemaakt, het kon niet sneller...). Dus nu op de valreep toch nog een ontsteking er bij. Vandaag moest ik daardoor naar de tandarts, want met een ontsteking er bij kan ik woensdag niet geholpen worden in het ziekenhuis. De tandarts kon alleen antibiotica en pijnstillers voorschrijven. Hopelijk kan ik vanacht wel slapen en is het voor woensdag tot rust gekomen. Laat ze die kiezen er maar snel uithalen :-(.

This is what I did in the car when we went on our holiday. It was so nice to work on it. Working by hand goes slow, but you can not get an authentic look like this if you work with a machine.

Yesterday I got toothache. Next week I have an appointment in the hospital to get rid of two of the third molars. But one of them decided to cause pain. Today I went to the dentist, because I can not go to the hospital if there is an infection. The dentist could only prescribe antibiotics and a strong painkiller. Hopefully this will help, so I can have the two teeth pulled on Wednesday :-(.

Terug van vakantie - Back from vacation

Is er een beter welkom denkbaar na de vakantie dan dit hierboven te vinden in de brievenbus? Een Quiling Arts magazine, het boek Stitching the textured surface (gesigneerd door Lynda en Carol) en een mooie kaart uit Denemarken van Inge, Inge bedankt!. En, het boekje met het cursusprogramma bij de Stofmeid in Borger. Ik heb me meteen opgegeven voor een cursus Surface Design. Leuk!

Is there a better welcome than finding these on the mailbox when arriving home from our vacation?
