1000 Artisan Textiles

Terwijl ik op het internet aan het surfen was, vond ik een plaatje van het boek '1000 Artisan Textiles'. Het boek komt mei volgend jaar uit. Zoals ik eerder schreef, zal één van mijn quilts in het boek staan. De omslag is veelbelovend.

While surfing on the internet I found a picture of the book '1000 Artisan Textiles' that will be available in May 2010. As I wrote before, one of my quilts will be in it. I would love to read this book.

Sneak peak

Hier zie je stukjes van de nieuwe quilt waar ik aan werk. Dit werk is voor de tentoonstelling in het voorjaar met het thema Sporen. Ik kan het pas in zijn geheel laten zien na de tentoonstelling.

Here you can see a part of a new quilt I am working on. It is the quilt for the exhibition with the theme Tracks/Traces. I can not show the whole work here. The endresult may be published after the exhibition in spring.


Afgelopen weekend heb ik tijdens een wandeling vlierbessen verzameld. Daar wil ik stof mee verven. Ik ben heel benieuwd naar het resultaat. Eerst nog even uitzoeken hoe ik daar het beste mee aan de slag kan gaan.

Last weekend I collected berries to dye fabric. I wonder what the result will be :-). First I have to find out how to get the best result.

Dit weekend breng ik mijn naaimachine naar de winkel. Ze hebben gezegd dat ik me geen zorgen moet maken. Ze gaan hem repareren. Ik hoop dat het goed komt.

This weekend I will bring my sewing machine to the store. They said that I didn't had to worry. They would fix the problem. I really hope they are right.

ATC's van batikstof

Ik heb een aantal ATC's gemaakt van één van de stoffen die ik laatst bij Sandra heb geverfd. Eerst hebben we met was gespeeld (batik) en daarna hebben we de stof geverfd. Het geeft hele mooie resultaten.

I made some ATC's of one of the fabric's I dyed at Sandra's a while ago. First we played with wax (batik) and then we dyed the fabric. It gives great results.

Problemen - Trouble

Sinds ik mijn Husqvarna Designer SE heb gekocht, heb ik problemen met de borduur-unit. Hij begint goed te naaien en zo opeens gaat ie doen wat ie wil doen. Recht naar boven! Dit is zo frustrerend. Ik heb nog maar twee dingen kunnen maken die gelukt zijn.
Deze keer wilde ik een cadeautje maken voor het babietje van een vriendin die ik ken van mijn schoolperiode. Haar naam is Noor. En kijk nou toch wat er is gebeurd... Ik ben bijna op het punt dat ik de machine niet meer wil. Of op het punt om in tranen uit te barsten. Dit had zo'n mooie combinatie moeten zijn: Husqvarna en ik...

Since I bought my Husqvarna Designer SE I have trouble with the embroidery-unit. The sewing machine starts of well and all of a sudden it decides to take it's own path. Straight to the top! This is so frustrating. I have only made two things that went well. This time I wanted to make a present for the new baby girl of a high school friend. Her name is Noor. And look what happend... I am almost at the point that I don't want this sewing machine anymore. Or at the point to just cry, because this should have been such a beautiful combination: Husqvarna and I.....

Personeelsuitje

Vandaag was ik op personeelsreis. We gingen naar Zuidlaren en Annen. Het was een leuke dag en ik had tijd om wat foto's te maken. Ik vind dat erg leuk om te doen, maar ik zou het meer moeten doen. Wat ik het leukst vind is het zoeken van de juiste compostie. Deze fotoserie is uiteraard zonder collega's.

Today I went on a trip with the people I work with. We went to Zuidlaren and Annen. It was a nice day and I had a change to make some pictures. I like taking pictures, but I should do it more often. I really enjoy finding the right composition etc... These pictures are of course without any collegues.

Prachtige kaart van Sandra

Wat heb ik toch een geluk. Ik heb een prachtige kaart gekregen van Sandra. Het duurde even voordat ik deze kon laten zien, want ik kon een aantal dagen niet inloggen door computerproblemen hier, maar inmiddels heb ik een andere manier gevonden om dit toe te voegen. Mooie kaart he?!

I am so lucky. This card was send to me by Sandra. It took a while for me to show it, because of computer trouble. But now I found a way to upload the picture. Nice card, isn't it?!

Mijn textielkunst in een boek?

Vandaag kreeg ik een e-mail van de dames die het boek 1000 Artisan Textiles maken. Zij schreven onder andere:

"We zijn blij je op de hoogte te kunnen brengen van het feit dat we jouw project hebben geselecteerd voor publicatie. De volgende stap is de opmaak van het boek. Er is altijd een kleine kans dat gedurende deze stap één of twee projecten afvallen. We hopen dat dat niet gebeurt, maar als dat wel zo is, zullen we je dit laten weten via e-mail, waarschijnlijk binnen de komende week tot tien dagen."

Gaaf toch!

Today I got an e-mail from the ladies that are working on the book 1000 Artisan Textiles. In the e-mail were also the next few lines:

Vandaag kreeg ik een e-mail van de dames die het boek 1000 Artisan Textiles maken. Zij schreven onder andere:

"We are happy to be able to notify you that we selected your project for publication.

The next step is to send the projects to layout. There is always a slight chance that during this stage, one or two projects may be cut. We hope that this doesn’t happen, but if it does, you will be notified by e-mail, probably within the next week or ten days."

Isn't that awesome?!

Breien - Knitting

Vorige week ben ik begonnen met het breien van een sjaal. Even iets anders tussendoor. Op mijn werk is het altijd koud, ook in de zomer, dus ik wil voor de winter graag iets hebben wat ik zo even over mijn schouders kan slaan. Helaas heb ik te weinig van deze wol gekocht, dus ik ben nog niet zo ver. Ik brei zo goed als nooit, vandaar dat ik niet goed heb kunnen inschatten hoeveel wol ik nodig heb. Deze wol heb ik gekocht toen we op vakantie in Duitsland waren. Hopelijk kan ik hier in Nederland binnenkort een paar bolletjes bijkopen. Het is wol van Lana Grossa wol, Tris, kleur 5. Als iemand deze ergens ziet, laat het dan maar even weten. Liefst in een aanbieding, want ze zijn 5,95 per bol van 50 gram.


This week I started with knitting a shawl. A big one, that I can wear at work. It is always cold there, even in Summer. I did not buy enough wool, because I do not knit often. So I hope I will find some more. I bought this wool in Germany. It is wool of the mark Lana Grossa, Tris, nr. 5.

Batik fun day

Vandaag hadden Willy, Sandra, Jacqueline, Laura, Annette en ik een Batik fun day. Emmy zou er ook bij zijn, maar zij werd helaas ziek.

Today Willy, Sandra, Jacqueline, Laura, Annette and I had a Batik fun day. Emmy was to join us too, but she couldn't come, because she was ill.

Paapje stoffen

Op dit moment werk ik aan een serie tassen. Dit zou de klep van een nieuwe tas kunnen worden. Ik heb een aantal Paapje stoffen gebruikt die ik afgelopen weekend heb gekocht. Het is zijde en borettizijde

At the moment I am working on bags. This may be the flap of a new bag... I used some of the Paapje fabrics that I bought last weekend. It is silk and 'Boretti' silk.
