Zin!

Mijn eerste quiltje voor ARTfor12. Tekst heeft voor mij te maken met zinnen. Het woord Zin is daar een afgeleide van. Zin heeft nog een betekenis, in de zin van 'zin hebben in'. En ja, ik heb wel zin in het maken van quiltjes voor deze groep. Ook vind ik 'zin' een vrolijk woord en daarom heb ik geprobeerd om een vrolijke, levendige quilt te maken, waarop het woord zin wordt weergegeven in combinatie met een vrouwelijk figuur die in mijn ogen 'zin hebben in' uitstraalt.

This is my first quilt for the art quilt group ARTfor12. The theme is 'Tekst' (text). In the Dutch language there is a word that has several meanings:

purpose (the ~), use (ww.), intention (the ~), meaning (bijv.nw. / bijw.), drift (ww.), value (ww.), merit (the ~), worth (bijv.nw. / bijw.), significance (the ~), interest (ww.), fervour (the ~), fascination (the ~), term (ww.), statement (the ~), phrase (ww.), expression (the ~), saying (the ~), turn of phrase (the ~), appetite (the ~), hunger (ww.), feel like a bite (the ~), lewdness (the ~), the hots (the ~), randiness (the ~), horniness (the ~)

I think 'zin' is a happy word. It is often used as 'feel like...'. And that in combination with the meaning 'phrase' has been captured in this quilt.
