Tijd quilt detail - Detail time quilt

Hier is weer een detail van het werk voor de time quilt. Ik hoop dat ik op tijd zie hoe ik de losse stukjes op een goede manier kan combineren. Als dat niet lukt, dan zal ik een serie quilts moeten maken :-).

Here is an other detail of the work I am doing for the time quilt. I hope that I will see in time how to incorporate all the pieces. I hope they fit together in some way... And if not, I will have to make a series :-).

De tijd quilt - The time quilt

Waar het naar toe gaat weet ik niet. Het groeit met de tijd. En ik neem de tijd om het te laten groeien, keuzes te maken, gedurende het pad. Steeds kijk ik. Niet naar mijn horloge, maar naar wat er ontstaat, een soort evolutie.

Where will it go to? I don't know. It is growing in time. And I am taking my time to let grow, make some choices, along the way. And I look. Not at my watch, but I am looking at what is growing in my hands. A sort of evolution.

Met kleine stapjes vooruit - Little steps forwards

The newest theme of the Dutch Bag Ladies is Time. Emmy handed us two fabrics, with a cold and a warm green. And now it is up to the group members to make something beautiful out of it. I like the fabrics. And now I am trying to get somewhere with it. I made several drawings, but nothing good has come up yet. I also made a big list with 'time'-words. Nothing has come out of that either. So I decided to start and see what happens. I hope time will tell :-)

As you can see, I am just experimenting.

And in the meanwhile I made an ATC. I dyed some fabric and stamped on it, with a handmade stamp (out of Linoleum). Ain't it funny? (Also see: http://corryna.blogspot.com/2008/03/stempels-gemaakt.html)

And I am still working on my Storm quilt. I started quilting it. I am a bit scared to mess it up with the quilting. But the next meeting, I want to show it to the group members, so I have to continue. And that is a good thing, because otherwise it would be an UFO, just because I am afraid of what will happen in this stage of the work. So I am taking little steps.

Broekreparatie - jeans repair

Opnieuw voel ik mij niet zo fit. Deze griep/verkoudheid is moeilijk kwijt te raken. Mijn werktempo is dan ook laag. Daarom laat ik nu alleen zien hoe ik de broek van mijn man heb gerepareerd. Ik heb hetzelfde gedaan bij de broeken van mijn zoons. Zij vinden het mooi zo.

I am not feeling well, again... This flu is hard to get rid of. My work tempo is very low now, so I will only show you how I repaired my husbands jeans. I did similar repairs to the jeans of my sons. They love it.

Storm quilt weer een stap verder - Storm quilt another step futher

Vandaag hadden we een gezellige meeting van de Dutch Bag Ladies bij Sandra thuis. Sandra ontving ons met koffie/thee en een heerlijke zelfgebakken appeltaart (jammie!). Na het eerste deel van de presentaties van de quilts verzorgde ze ook nog een heerlijke lunch met lekkere broodjes, soep en salade. Haar kinderen waren/kwamen ook thuis en daardoor had ze haar handen vol. Ik ben onder de indruk van haar kracht en flexibiliteit en hoop dat vandaag niet te veel voor haar was. Dank je wel Sandra voor deze fantastische middag en al wat je ervoor moest organiseren.
Emmy deelde de nieuwe opdracht uit. Het thema is Tijd. Het zijn mooie kleuren, maar geen kleuren die ik eerder heb gebruikt. Inmiddels heb ik al wat zitten combineren en ik word er al weer helemaal enthousiast van. Dit gaat helemaal goed komen.

Onze group is gegroeid naar negen leden. Wietske Kluck is de groep komen versterken. Zij heeft ook een blog, waar je haar mooie werk kunt zien.
Ik voel me bevoorrecht om deel uit te mogen maken van deze leuke groep getalenteerde vrouwen!

Helaas heb ik mijn quilt niet voor vandaag afgekregen. Ik dacht dat ik nog een maand meer had, maar ontdekte dat de bijeenkomst in Januari en niet in Februari was. Maar, ik heb hard gewerkt en dit is tot dusver het resultaat. Een mooie basis om aan verder te werken.

Today we had a wonderful meeting of the Dutch Bag Ladies at Sandra's house. Sandra gave us with a very tastful meal. She made an apple pie (jummie!) tomato soup, bread and a salade. Her children were/came home too during the day, so she had her hands full with her guests, serving the food and helping her children. I admire her strength and flexibility. I hope it was not to much for her. Thank you Sandra for the great meeting and all that you organized. I feel very lucky to be in this wonderful group of talented women!

Our group has grown to nine members now. Wietske Kluck joined in the club. She has an blog too, so you can look at her wonderful work there.

I did not finish my quilt. That is a pity. I thought I had one month more, but I found out that our meeting was in January, not February. But, I worked hard and this is how far I got.
