When I became a member of the Quiltersgilde (september 2007) they send me four pieces of batik fabric to welcome me as a new member. I made a little quilt, that I also showed on this blog, and later I thought it might be nice to send the Quiltersgilde a photo to show that I used the fabric in a quilt. They send me an email and asked for a high quality photo, because they wanted to publish it in their magazine. And this week I got the magazine and yes, the photo is in it. And it feels special to see your own work displayed this way. The 16.000 members can all look at it now. My first quilt in a magazine. Who knows where this creative path will lead me to.
Nadat ik lid was geworden van het Quiltersgilde (september 2007) kreeg ik vier batikstofjes toegestuurd als welkomsgeschenk. Ik heb twee hiervan verwerkt in een quiltje en dacht dat het aardig zou zijn om een foto hiervan te laten zien aan het Quiltersgilde. Daarna kreeg ik een email waarin mij gevraagd werd om een grotere foto te sturen, omdat ze hem wilden gebruiken in hun magazine. En deze week kwam het magazine binnen en de quilt staat erin. Het voelt toch wel speciaal om je eigen werk in zo'n magazine te zien. 16.000 leden kunnen het nu zien. Mijn eerste quilt... Wie weet wat er nog volgt.

The quilt is so well done on a small scale too. Wondering if you cut holes in the long piece and put other fabric in back? Or is that the design that already there?

Ik had het ook al gezien, wist het niet zeker, maar had al zo'n vermoeden dat jij dat was.
